What health services are available?
Sour Lake Health and Medical will provide the following services, among others: ·
  • Adult Medicine
    • Annual preventive exam
    • Diagnosis and treatment of common acute illness and injury
    • Diagnosis and treatment of common chronic illness such as diabetes, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, heart disease, thyroid disease, depression, hormone imbalance, chronic lung disease, asthma, arthritis, gastrointestinal disease, peripheral vascular disease, and anemia
    • Routine screening as recommended by national guidelines
    • In office lab testing for evaluation of acute and chronic illness
    • Injections for the treatment of acute infection, inflammation, vomiting, allergy, pain, hormone deficiency, vitamin deficiency, vaccination, and contraception.
    • Diagnosis, evaluation, education, counseling and medical management of obesity
    • Cancer screening
    • Immunization
    • Referral to specialists when appropriate
 
  • Pediatric Medicine
    • Annual preventive exam
    • Infant, toddler, school age and adolescent screening exams
    • Diagnosis and treatment of common acute illness and injury
    • Diagnosis and treatment of common chronic illness such as asthma, eczema, and allergies
    • Physical exams for UIL sports
    • In office lab testing for evaluation of acute and chronic illness, including strep throat, bronchitis, influenza, RSV (respiratory syncytial virus), urinary tract infections, sprains, fractures, and mononucleosis.
    • Injections for the treatment of acute infection, vomiting, allergy
    • Referral to specialists when appropriate
 
  • Gynecology
    • Annual Well Woman Exam
    • PAP smear screening exam
    • Testing and treatment for sexually transmitted disease
    • Diagnosis and treatment of common complaints
    • Management of menopausal symptoms
    • Contraceptive initiation and maintenance
    • Pregnancy testing
    • Referral to specialists when appropriate
 
  • Dermatology
    • Laceration repair
    • Incision and drainage
    • Diagnosis and treatment of common skin infections, rashes and lesions
    • Removal of moles, skin tags, warts, and foreign bodies
    • Biopsy and removal of suspicious skin lesions
    • Management of acne, eczema, and psoriasis
    • Referral to specialists when appropriate
 
Do you offer services for work injuries and special physical exams (INS, DMV, employment, etc.)?
We do not offer treatment or follow up treatment for Motor Vehicle Accidents
 
Office hours will be Monday through Thursday from 7:30 am to 5:00 pm and Closed Friday - Sunday.
